Biography
Eva Sanborn is currently interested in exploring gender, sexual power dynamics, and victimhood in Renaissance literature. She is particularly focused on looking at how Shakespeare’s female characters continue to be represented and understood in both literary criticism and various adaptations throughout the centuries and how intersecting forms of oppression and objectification have shaped their original depictions and subsequent legacies.
Additionally, she is interested in exploring film, particularly film adaptations of Renaissance literature and body horror films. She would like to continue thinking about the unique ways that film deals with issues of gender, alterity, and desire.
