Jackline Ballang's research is in environmental humanities, with a focus on Africa and its literatures. She works in conversation with posthumanist theory, affect theory, and postcolonial studies. She reads African fiction to explore questions, looking at how machines, nonhuman life, and children come to perceive, interpret, and shape the environments they are part of.
