Biography
My research focuses on decolonization and affect theory, law, and citizenship in studying moments of encounter between agents of neocolonial and carceral states and their subjects. Reading across 20th century South American and South Asian literature, I am interested in legal frameworks that enable impunity for the nation-state, and the work of affect in excavating these landscapes of state violence, insurgencies, and forced disappearances. I’m also interested in visual culture and photography. Previously, I worked with the Ministry of Education and Culture in Spain, and as an Academic Writing Instructor at Ashoka University in India.
