Biography

My research focuses on 20th -century and contemporary literatures tied to colonial histories. I am interested in the relationship between politics and literary form. Currently, I am thinking about the
moralization of different kinds of debt and the embrace, or rejection, of this impulse in literature. Broadly speaking, I am also drawn to “philosophy and literature,” which, to me, includes textual objects and methodological approaches open simultaneously to theory and close reading.

Before Brown, I found a place to nurture my study of poetry and writing practice at Cornell, where I also worked as a lecturer for two years.
